WHISTLEBLOWER | Freedom of Speech
Art & Human Rights Event
December 2015 to March 2016
WHISTLEBLOWER | Freedom of Speech is the second Art & Rights event of our series VOICE OF ART.
This event calls attention to the topic Whistleblowers and to the following articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights: Article 3 [Right to Life, Liberty, Personal Security], Article 18 [Freedom of Thought, Conscience and Religion], Article19 [Freedom of Expression, Opinion and Information].
We have invited an international group of Artists to amplify their voices with current works. The works are for sale in the context of the event.
The proceeds will be used to support the Help desk "Help for Journalists in Need" of our charity partner REPORTER OHNE GRENZEN. For the opening of the event and exhibition a catalogue will be released.

Reporter ohne Grenzen | Help for journalists in need
The focal point of its work is the individual support of persecuted journalists and media professionals (incl. bloggers and media assistants) in their respective country of origin as well as in exile in Germany and other countries. Its aim is to support the journalists concerned in a way that they are effectively protected from prosecution in the long run and are able to resume and pursue their journalistic work.

Our donation to the Help Desk of REPORTER OHNE GRENZEN benefits:
Maria Varfolomeyeva is a Ukrainian journalist. She was arrested in January, 2015 during a stay in Lugansk by separatist forces or better was taken in captivity, because she should have photographed strategically important objects. Her release could be reached at the beginning of March, 2016. We use your donation to pay a part of the medical treatment after the captivity for Mrs. Varfolomeyeva.
